Take Action on Sweatshop Funding of the FLA Human Rights
Groups -- Ask Amnesty International to demand Kerry Kennedy's resignation
from a leadership role in the organization and ask rock group R.E.M. to
stop supporting Lawyers Committee for Human Rights.

Rockers R.E.M. ---- The rock group REM
is a supporter of LCHR; concerned activists are urged to call upon the
group to reconsider this support. Representatives of the band that concerned

Mention the atrocious companies that LCHR receives funding
from such as Pfizer which AIDS activists are in opposition to in regards
to efforts to increase access to inexpensive life-saving medicines.

Kerry Kennedy heads Amnesty-USA's Executive Director's Leadership
Council. Contact Amnesty International and to let the group know that you
are appalled by the fact that sweatshops are funding Kerry Kennedy's human
rights work and that you urge Amnesty to call for her resignation.
Point out that she is too entrenched within the corporate and political
establishment to provide leadership for the human rights community.
Possibly the strongest impact from a call to Amnesty would be to
contact the Internataional Secretariat of the organization.
